Q. S.P.A. related questions.
A. S.P.A. is not through BYFA but through the school. Any questions regarding S.P.A. should be directed to Coach Flowers at rflowers@bixbyps.org.

Q. What is the fee to participate in tackle football?
A. There is a registration fee of $150 per child + the cost of uniforms and equipment.

Q. How do I register my child for tackle football?
A. All children must be registered in the Sportabase system. Simply click on this link to complete the Sportabase registration. The deadline to register for the 2023 season is July 20, 2023.

Q. Can I pay by check?
A. Yes. Checks can be made payable to BYFA and can be given to a member at one of the on-site registrations.
**Please note your child’s name and grade in the memo section of the check.

Q. Will there be a fundraiser?
A. Yes, there is a fundraiser opportunity for every child/family. No player will be turned away! Please reach out if you need assistance. Information for fundraisers can be found at on-site registrations or by emailing bixbybyfa@gmail.com.

Q, My child has never participated before. Once I sign him/her up, what do I need to do next?
A. Once you have registered your child, he/she will need to be fitted for their equipment and uniform. They can be fitted during one of our on-site registrations or by visiting Midwest Sporting Goods at 9530 E 55th Pl, Tulsa, OK 74145. They will need a helmet with mouthpiece and chin strap, shoulder pads, practice pants, cleats, practice jersey, and any other protective gear that you see fit for your child.

Q. Does my child need to have a physical?
A. Yes, each year your child will need to have a sports physical on file with the office before he/she participates in practice or games. Physicals are offered at some of our on-site registrations. Please visit our Facebook page for more information on physicals and when they will be offered. If you are not able to make the on-site registrations, a physical will need to be done by your private provider. No child will be allowed to participate in any practice or games without a physical on file.

Q. Besides a sports physical, are there any other documents that I will need to provide?
A. Yes, a copy of your child’s birth certificate will need to be on file prior to attending the first practice. This can be given to a board member at one of our on-site registrations, or you can provide a copy of it to your coach, or email it to bixbybyfa@gmail.com. No child will be allowed to participate in any practice or games without a copy of a birth certificate on file.

Q. What item(s) should I purchase/provide for my child to play football?
A. You will need to purchase/provide football cleats, practice jersey, practice pants, pads, helmet/mouth piece, pads or girdle for game uniforms and helmet chin strap. These are not included in the registration fee.

Q. Where do I purchase practice pants, practice jerseys, and/or football cleats?
A. You can purchase practice pants/jersey, shoulder pads, helmets and cleats at any nearby sporting goods store.

Q. What is a combine?
A. The combine is an opportunity for coaches to view all the players that will be participating in the draft for the upcoming season. The players will need to wear full practice equipment and football cleats to the combine as they will be participating in a few agility drills.

Q. Who needs to participate in the combine?
A. All new football players that are not already assigned to a team or any player that is returning to the draft.

Q. Where and when is the combine for Bixby?
A. July 20th, 2023 from 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm at the Bixby High School Football Field.

Q. How do I know what team my child is on?
A. Once the teams are formed, the head coach will contact you with team information including practice times and location.

Q. My child participated last year, does he/she automatically return to the same team?
A. Yes, unless you wish to place your child back into the draft or registered after the draft. Coaches CANNOT put players back into the draft, only parents can request that their child be placed back into the draft. (BYFA bylaw)

Q. What do I need to do if I don’t want my child to return to the same team?
A. When you register your child, please indicate that you wish to return to the draft in the special request/comments section of the form.

Q. How can I have my child placed on a specific team?
A. Our draft rules are governed by INFC and are very specific. Please see the rules/regulations section of the INFC website. The address is www.inyouthsports.com.

Q. I have twins who would like to play football, can they both be on the same team?
A. Yes

Q. I have two children who are two years apart; can they both be on the same team?
A. According to INFC rules, a child in the 3rd – 7th grade levels will be allowed to play up one grade level only with approval. The only way a child would be allowed to play up two grade levels would be for the reason of weight. A player will not be allowed to play down a grade level. If your child is in Mighty-Mite (1st or 2nd grade), they are not allowed to play up a grade unless the child turns 8 years old prior to September 1 or the weight rule affects the player.

Q. Where will my child practice?
A. Your head coach will contact you and let you know the specifics of where and when practice will be held.

Q. How many times a week will my child have practice?
A. Your child could have practice up to four times a week for a maximum time limit of two hours each practice. Your coach will contact you with specifics on practice.

Q. When are the games?
A. All games are held on Saturday. The first regular season game is scheduled for August 26, 2023. Specific team schedules will come out the week before games start.

Q. When will I get my child’s game schedule?
A. Game schedules will be given the week of the first regular season game. Your coach will distribute the schedules. You may also go to the INFC website to print the schedule.

Q. How long are the games?
A. All games are typically scheduled in one hour and 15 minute increments.

Q. What time do I need to have my child at the football field on game days?
A. Players are required to weigh in before every game. Typically, players are required to be at the field 45 minutes to one hour before the scheduled game time to weigh in and properly warm up. Your coach will provide the specifics.

Q. Are all the games played in Bixby?
A. No.

Q. Where are the home fields located for Bixby?
A. Bixby Spartan Stadium

Q. Does it cost to attend my child’s games?
A. Yes, per INFC rules there is a gate fee.
Adults = $5.00
Students (ages 6-18) = $2.00
Seniors (ages 65 and older) = $2.00
Children under 5 years old = free
Players and cheerleaders do not have to pay gate fees

Q. What if I have two children in the program and I have one home game and one away game, will I have to pay a gate fee twice?
A. Yes.

Q. I have two children in the program and both have games at the same location but different times, will I be required to pay gate fee twice?
A. You should be able to get a stamp at the gate before you leave the first game to allow you to reenter the second game.

Q. What is the INFC?
A. INFC stands for Indian Nations Football Conference. This is the parent conference that Bixby Youth Football is associated with. The INFC handles all scheduling of pre-season, post-season, and league games. The INFC also handles all scheduling of league officials. Bixby Youth Football is an INFC league sanctioned club and thusly fall under all rules set forth by the Conference.
